An Abstract Illusion - Part 2

Setting out on the Scandinavian leg of An Abstract Illusion's tour, my eyes initially lay on the bombastic yet gracious, mellow yet ferocious music of An Abstract Illusion. The capacity to switch modes within the same song and make it work so nicely is unmatched by An Abstract Illusion!

Disillusion has compositionally similar works. Finding a melody, riff, or hook and exploring all possible paths around it, creating long epics worth every minute. The live show also places emphasis on the current state of music, where melodic sections are delivered with grace and the heavy parts with an unrelenting punk-rock vibe!

The evening was opened by the prog rock band Quantum. The play around the border of metal and rock shows that you really don't have to box yourself into a category to make cool and interesting music. Performing vocals whilst playing guitar isn't that uncommon, but vocals along with slap bass was a new thing to see :D
