In early 2026, Gothenburg's music scene saw exciting developments with the emergence of two independent grassroots initiatives. One of these initiatives is called Currents, a festival dedicated to music and art. The inaugural two-day festival took place in February at the Gathenhielmska House and was organized by three musicians: Cecilia Erixon, Rebecca Bäckman, and Ottilia Vejdeland. The event featured live music, a sound installation, and visual art, aiming to provide a platform for young and emerging artists.
The other newcomer on the scene is Bohemia, a jazz club that opened in February at Skeppsbron. It is organised by two musicians, Teodor Gleisner and Linus Axelsson, and aims to complement existing jazz clubs by focusing on more avant-garde jazz styles.

In March, Vinkeln captured a performance by CENOMA at Bohemia, a new duo consisting of Cecilia Erixon, who also organized Currents, and Silene Høxbro. They performed original music alongside band members Agnes Viksten, Johan Knutsson, and Nora Mauritzson. In the second set, Emrik Claesson performed with the band.
