A Study in Double Exposure. Photography as capturing reality or creating art.

Exploring the liminal space between fantasy and reality. Capturing a feeling.

“A photograph is not only an image (as a painting is an image), an interpretation of the real; it is also a trace, something directly stenciled off the real, like a footprint or a death mask.” Susan Sontag

What is reality like before perception? The paradoxical question: what does reality really look like when not filtered through the human eye? The way we see the world isn't actually the way the world is. Neurons pick up external stimuli, and the brain translates them into the world we experience. It also depends on each individual's experiences and expectations. Are black-and-white photos more real?
